Looking for super-fast wireless router for your home at a low price?

Buy.com has the TrendNet TEW-632BRP for $24.99 with free shipping, a 64 percent savings off the $70 list price and a good $30 off the lowest closest retailer price we could find.

This four-port switch features 128-bit encryption, DMZ port, NAT support, 64-bit encryption, auto-uplink (auto MDI/MDI-X), dynamic DNS server, MAC address filtering, URL filtering, IP address filtering, MIMO technology, and virtual server support.

CNET hasn't reviewed this router, but Google product reviewers gave it 4 and a half stars out of 5, with many noting that installation was a breeze.

The router has an indoor maximum range of 330 feet and supports 802.11 standards b, g, and n (second draft). And at four times faster than that g router you are still using, this little router is likely to serve your wireless needs for years to come.

The following product mentioned is available.

Warning: cnet and newegg users are really unhappy with this router. The average rating from 12 cnet users is 2/5 (http://bit.ly/1FXReD) and 47% of 54 newegg users give it a 1 or 2 out of 5 (http://bit.ly/3txTwr).

For what it's worth, I find that almost all routers get poor user ratings. I don't know if that's because people don't know how to configure/use them properly or if they're just unreliable products overall, but I can't say I've ever had a problem with a router.

This is good advice! While it is true that lots of folks don't know how to properly set up routers, if you read the comments from the 1 and 2 star reviews on newegg, you'll see that they're not the usual run-of-the-mill comments you get from folks that don't really know what they're doing. Instead, it does appear that there are some serious firmware and hardware issues with this router. I would definitely think twice about buying it based on the reviews I've seen.

no idea if it is any good or how the specs are different, but the same site has the 653bpr for ~ $35.00. $10.00 more I know but may still be a good deal. I will note I did not take much time to compare the two models and not sure what is much different between the two

Ok - so you can't beat the price - but I'm still crazy about the Netgear RangeMax WNDR3700 N Router. I found it on sale at Amazon as well. It is super fast, easy to set up and I haven't had a single problem with it. If you're looking for a serious price cut - stick with this one - but if you're really interested in a good price and great performance check out the Netgear WNDR3700. You won't be disappointed!
