Need a list-minute gift for an office party, your trusty mail carrier, a beloved blogger, or anyone else on your list? As long as you have a printer, you can churn out something special in a matter of minutes. Here's a list of four stores that let you print your own gift certificates for in-person giving:

  • Amazon.com On any Amazon page, click the Gift Cards link, then choose Print at Home. The minimum amount is $5, but you're not limited to increments: Your certificate can be in the amount of $10.57, if you want.
  • Gifts.com The recipient of a Gifts.com certificate can redeem it at one or more of a hundred-plus stores and restaurants, including Barnes & Noble, Pottery Barn, and Starbucks.
  • iTunes Obviously, you can grab an iTunes gift card in just about any store on the planet, but did you know you can print your own? Just fire up iTunes, click Buy iTunes Gifts, and then choose Printable Gift Certificates. Amounts range from $10 to $200.
  • Restaurant.com Once again, Restaurant.com is offering $25 gift certificates for just $2 (with coupon code HOLIDAY). Not familiar with the site? Get the details from my previous post.
It's worth noting that Amazon, Gifts.com, and iTunes gift certificates can also be e-mailed. I'm just saying!

Isn't it great how technology can change the way people interact during the holidays! I'd like to suggest VOIKE for a free last minute gift. Voike allows you to send a recorded holiday message, pictures, links and text to love ones, friends and people who you might forget about around the world. Voike is a social networking site that really gives uses their own private PHONE COMPANY housed in a Social Site like Facebook, only much better. The service is new and so is offered completely for free. Don't panic - get on voike.com and make this the most memorable season of giving ever by sending a heartfelt greeting in your own words.

Rick, you rock. That Restaurant.com code didn't seem to have a limit, so I loaded up for stocking stuffers and office gifts. Thanks a million.

Check out www.giftzip.com. I believe they include all four of these and hundreds more. It is basically a hyperlinked directory to any retailer that utilizes printable or emailable gift cards. Saves a ton of time.

One more idea for those trying to lower their carbon footprint...plant a tree for someone and print them a certificate. Trees are a buck a piece..the right tree in the right place, I think they say. americanforest.org. All of my long-distant relatives got a tree planted on their behalf this year and I got the satisfaction that I did something good for the planet.

itunes? If I am going to give gifts to people I care about I wouldn't do something like that to them.

So I stumbled upon this website a little while ago and swear to it. GiftZip.com ..They offer free, direct links to places that have printable, e-mailable or eGift cards which is far more convenient than similar websites whom have broken links and banner ads and stupidly include retailers that don't offer eGift cards. The site describes itself as having "Kiosk-Like" usability, which i thought was clever and appropriate. The Site has a huge selection of retailers, from the big names to funny and unique gifts. Saved me some time and energy, extremely easy to use, no registration and it's completely free to use-- I recommend this friendly tool it to everyone who needs to purchase a last minute gift or is who is looking to purchase an eGift card. You can ever use it from your PDA or smart phone. I probably can't post links in here, but it's worth checking out. <a href="http://www.giftzip.com">printable eGift Cards</a>
