Track price drops with ShoppingNotes.com

Want to know when there's a price reduction on that PS3 you've been eyeballing? Or the Amazon Kindle? Or just about anything else sold online?

ShoppingNotes.com tracks individual products and sends you an e-mail alert whenever there's a price drop.

There are two ways to use ShoppingNotes. First, you can copy and paste a product-page URL into the site's Web form, then enter your e-mail address for receiving alerts. Alternately, you can install the ShoppingNotes bookmarklet, which greatly simplifies the price-watch process: when viewing a product page, just click the bookmark.

You can also sign up for a free ShoppingNotes account, which lets you view and organize your alerts, get up-to-date prices, and so on. Definitely a handy little service for anyone waiting for a bargain to come along. Of course, there are loads of other price-watch services--this one just happened to cross my radar. If you've had good luck with another service, tell me about it in comments!

Nice idea, but I hate giving out my email address as I get enough spam already. I'd prefer an RSS feed with filters, such as what Feed Rinse provides. But then I suppose it robs Shopping Notes the opportunity of spamming me and making a profit off advertising. Catch 22...

Why not use a secondary email address? I have one just for these purposes.

Hi! My name is Meng, and I'm the founder of ShoppingNotes.com. We take our users' privacy very seriously, and we NEVER spam our users. I'm sure many of our happy users can attest to this. :-)

This site seems to do the same thing as Price Protectr (sic, www.priceprotectr.com). That site started as a way to track already-purchased items, but it now also includes a feature to track an item or target a price.

Hi! My name is Meng, and I'm the founder of ShoppingNotes.com. You're right in that our price alert service is similar to PriceProtectr, but a big difference is that we can watch prices on almost any merchant sites on the Internet, while PriceProtectr is limited to only about 100+ sites.

I have been using www.pricetrace.com. This is a great site, which not only provides price drop alert, but also shows price history chart, as well as price comparison in many websites.

I am using a similar service on this site: http://www.pricetrace.com/

It does not have as many stores as shoppingnote, but it does have a price history chart of an item. So, it will be nice to know at what price I want to get alert.

It also has a toolbar which gives you ability for one-click to view the product price information.
