I'll never buy another printer that requires a cable. Wireless printing, that's the ticket. Fortunately, you don't have to pay a premium for this enviable capability, as evidenced by Dell's V305w--an all-in-one model currently on sale for $79.

Shipping is free (make sure to choose three-to-five day delivery at checkout), though you'll probably have to pony up a few bucks for sales tax.

The Wi-Fi-enabled V305w features a 100-sheet input tray, borderless photo printing up to 8.5 inches by 14 inches, and media-card slots for printing photos without your PC. (Alas, there's no preview LCD.)

Dell promises 25 pages per minute for black printing, 18 ppm for color, and 17 ppm for copying--impressive speeds given the entry-level nature of this model. You'll pay around $19 for replacement blank black cartridges and $25 for color.

The V305w works only with Windows systems, and it can be plugged into a USB port if necessary. (It even comes with a cable, which is weird). CNET has yet to review this model, but check out the gushing user reviews at Dell's site.

Didn't you post this awhile back? I bought this one. It works uberific. Easy to set up and wifi works like a charm. If you don't have the "printer cord" or the proper usb interface cord for this type of connection, you could probably find it a lot cheaper on other sites besides dells. Funny thing is I had 3 in my house and also it shipped with one, when it clearly stated that it was not included.

Other than that this thing scans, prints, copies just right for my needs.

You're right: I did post this about six weeks ago. It was even a few bucks cheaper then, though that sale price didn't last very long. Hopefully this $50 discount will last at least a day or two.

Not a bad deal, but you probably mean "black" cartridges and not "blank." I could be wrong. Also how are the cartridges rated as far number of pages printed? I thought Dell had licensed Lexmark cartridges/print systems and Lexmark is notorious for over use of expensive ink.

I've tried two different dell wireless computers. They aren't that great. Hard to setup, flaky software and a lot of it. Do I need to install five different programs just to connect and print? Bloatware, largely unsupported by Dell as its a lexmark printer.

I'm no fan of HP either and its wireless nightmares. For me, buy the ehternet port adapted printer, put the printer near the wireless router you have and print to the IP. Easy and sometimes cheaper.

FWIW, I've had a much easier time with Wi-Fi printers than I have with those connected directly to the router. But having seen the shovels of shovelware packaged with certain HP models, I feel your pain.

No Macintosh connectivity?
That's odd. And a wireless printer at that.
My HP all-in-one works wirelessly with all platforms.
(how hard would it be for dell to provide drivers for the Mac?)

I agree: The lack of Mac drivers is unfortunate. Come on, Dell, get with the program!
