Made it to the center of the corn maze

At the center of the corn maze is a large bridge, from which it is possible to see all 40 acres of the corn field. It is quite an impressive view, even as you realize that once you step down, your visibility is gone again.

DIXON, Calif.--I made it to the center.

It's true. After about an hour, sticking religiously to the map they gave me at the beginning, I found myself at the bridge in the middle of the world's largest corn maze, looking out at 40 acres of corn. I'm pretty proud of myself.

It was hard. But, by using the map, keeping careful track of where I was going, and looking ahead and being sure where I wanted to go, I made it.

Of course, once I got to the outer ring of the center, it got hard, because instead of being a bunch of paths at right angles to each other, the rings are curved. And confusing.

From the bridge in the center of the maze, you can see the curved paths radiating out.

But here I am. It's quiet here, except for the fact that every few minutes a group discovers the bridge. One group just arrived after their leader found it and wolf-whistled out to the rest of his friends. I feel very proud I didn't need any help.

So, here I sit. And now I'm going to finish this blog and get back to it. I think a search party won't be necessary to get me out.

But we'll see, won't we?

They were out of maps when we got there, so we went without.
Took us about 50 minutes to get to the bridge, and then got
messed up by the curved "petals" in the middle. Ended up making
two "circles" back to the bridge before we found our way to the
second bridge near to the exit. At that point we were worn out,
and just followed the crowd to the exit.
