Cry more?

Seriously, judging by the much reduced lines this time round the iPhone's had it's day in the sun.

"eriously, judging by the much reduced lines this time round the iPhone's had it's day in the sun."

Your right kid, most people pre-ordered their iPhone 3G S online.

Thanks, Granddad.

I know. It'll sell well and is a good phone but the hype's just a big yawn now.

Once again Apple misses the boat and does not support Blue Tooth Stereo. For a company that prides it's self on music and customer satifation sure does not listen to it's customers. I'll have to pass on this one too.

Check your facts.

I think it does have A2DP.
by seven7dust June 19, 2009 12:44 PM PDT
not only that but my 2g touch has it as well
thx to the 3.0 update !

The only reason Apple has the "...world's attention..." is because outfits like Cnet continue to give them free press for YAP (Yet Another Phone). Wake me up when you have real news to report.

AT&T sold "hundreds of thousands" of the new touch-screen handset during its online pre-order process.
This does not even count pre-orders from Apple.com website
Perhaps this is the reason why lines are smaller this year?

Third, fourth, or fifth generation, and the damned thing still won't run background apps, so it's impossible to put in an app that makes the phone work like a beeper by issuing repeated alerts on receipt of a specific email sender or subject pattern. A simple little thing I need for my business, and Apple doesn't understand it. Amazing.

You are asking the wrong question.

The Mail app does run in background (All Apple apps do). Only third party apps cannot.

You should ask Apple to add some options to monitor emails from specific senders, in the Mail app. That's all.

Inside the Apple, er, Microsoft Store

Although Redmond's foray into retail bears a big resemblance to Apple's approach, Microsoft has added some distinctive features to draw casual PC buyers and techies alike.

Big marketing budget drives Moto Droid sales

Verizon and Motorola are spending big bucks--$100 million--on marketing the new smartphone, and it looks like it will pay off with 1 million devices sold by year's end.

About Apple

At the start of the 21st century, there's no tech outfit more influential than Apple. CNET News' Erica Ogg and other reporters will attempt to make sense of the rumors, hype, products, and people that will shape the future of the company. But Apple's not the only game in town, as the established cell phone companies and others strike back against the iPhone. E-mail Erica at erica.ogg@cnet.com.
