Two new Web sites launched Wednesday that map out President-elect Barack Obama's transition to the White House.

Change.gov, Obama's official transition site, features a blog, a section with Obama's agenda, and a section that profiles the Obama administration. It also includes a jobs page for those interested in working in the Obama administration, a page titled "America Serves" that emphasizes the need for community service, and a section called "American Moment," where visitors are encouraged to share their stories or their vision for the country.

The front page on Wednesday linked to a YouTube video, found in the first entry of the site's blog, of Obama's final campaign speech given in Chicago after his victory.

The Government Accountability Office launched its own 2009 Congressional and Presidential Transition site as well on Wednesday. The nonpartisan GAO makes recommendations on the site of ways the new government can address the nation's biggest challenges.

On the new site, the GAO lists 13 issues that "demand urgent attention and continuing oversight to ensure the nation's security and well-being." Along with "financial institutions and markets" and "Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan," the list includes the transition to digital television and the retirement of the space shuttle.

The site also features a closed-captioned introductory video from Gene Dodaro, the acting comptroller general.

The change.gov site has a job application link. Obama is obviously very serious about promoting active citizenry.

I don't know what country you're living in, frasercrane, but as far as I know, transition "jobs" pay quite well and often lead to "permanent" jobs as long as the newly elected is in office. Now, excuse me while I finish my application.

The Bush Adm.provided a 700 bil bailout for the financial idiots that laughed all the way too the bank with the bonuses of millions of dollars they got. The common sense bailout would have been .$200,000.00 for evey person that paid taxes on a net of less than $250,000.000. This would have let everyone with a mortgage , able too payoff the mortgage, Buy a new home, Pay for education, Buy a new car, buy new items for the house, put money back, Thus relieving the mortgage crises, the housing crises , thebanking crises, and starting the Economy off with a bang, BUT THATS JUST GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE!

I hope that a first day Executive Order includes:
1: Direct the closure of Guananamo.
2: Ban all forms of torture by any US agency or person.
3: Restore the right of Habeus Corpus to anyone from whom it has been withheld.

Congratulations, Senator Obama, on your well deserved election!
