Report: Palin, Obama lead in election-related spam

Sen. Barack Obama and Gov. Sarah Palin are both winners when it comes to spam.

Does her name inspire you to download spyware?

(Credit: State of Alaska)

The amount of spam that mentioned Obama beat out that of his rival, Sen. John McCain, by a ratio of 6 to 1 during the month of September, according to a study released by Secure Computing. Likewise, Palin outranked her opponent, Sen. Joe Biden, by a ratio of 6 to 1. The results were published Friday in a PC Magazine report.

The numbers don't mean much in terms of who actually wins the election, but they do show that spammers are staying on top of what names are hot among Internet users. A "surge" of Obama spam apparently occurred around September 3, about the time of the Republican National Convention, according to PC Magazine.

"Though the spam message content itself is nonsensical, the basic themes of the Obama e-mail content does tend to revolve around the shallow factors that are espoused in the mainstream media as central campaign issues: race, disputes with Clinton, messianic oratory, and Fox news smears," Secure Computing said in its study. "The McCain spam subjects are equally driven by shallow media propaganda, revolving around age and wealth."

Also last month, security firm Sophos warned that a malicious e-mail was making the rounds which claimed to have a link to a sex video of Obama but which was instead spyware. Clicking on the link downloaded an executable file that played an amateur porn video, but Obama obviously wasn't in it.

Has OBAMA made the "Chicken come home to roost?"

TIME for McCain and Palin to "REFORM WASHINGTON GOVERNMENT!"

GOVERNMENT is too big making, there is NO Way that America can do what Obama is say he can do and give to the poor and others. Obama is full of "white stories".

THE TRUE FACT IS ~~~ a person does not go to Washington and get over $125,000 from Fannie Mae....Obama get the money.

If this were to be true, wouldn't the FBI be involved ? Is the McCain campaign suggesting that the country nominated candidates without checking their background ? If one were to apply for a Federal job, they are scrutinized to the extent and I believe that these candidates are checked out way more thoroughly. These accusations are just childish and doesn't befit a Presidential campaign.

Sorry state of affairs.

Candidates, unfortunately, are not vetted as thoroughly as we are when we apply for a Federal job OR a security
clearance. At any rate, Obama and his people are extremely skilled at "cover-ups". I believe the FBI is looking into
several aspects of " Obama World ". The accusations ARE NOT childish--this is the MOST crucial election we have
ever witnessed. Did you know that on Aug. 21,2008 a lawsuit was filed against Obama by the former Attorney
General of Pa. ?? Has to do with Obama's birthplace and his questionable elgibility to run for the Presidency. We'll
see how THAT comes out. Obama is a dangerous man and the thought of him in the Oval Office SCARES ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the government, political message is not spam. You may called it spam but in the eyes of the law it is not. You cannot get prosecuted for massive emailing a political message.

Feel free to send the Federalist paper to everyone in America. :)

What kind of country are we living in when the fake sex video virus is titled as an Obama video? If there is one good thing about Palin, isn't it the excitement proffered by massive amounts of spam touting illicit views of the former beauty contestant?

All kidding aside, it's obvious that the spambots have made their choice: Obama/Palin '08. How many electoral votes does the bot community get?

The next debate should be more interesting than the first, in light of the recent economic meltdown. Obama will of course blame the republicans and Bush.

McCain may want to point out the fact that Barney Frank and the other socialist democrats in congress pretty much caused the whole Freddie/Fannie mess. He could even suggest watching the video on YouTube of those democrats in congress vehemently defending their dangerous lending practices, even acting offended by the republicans who dared question these practices. That's what lobby-money-bribes will do I guess. Ironic that government bribes are legal only because congress would be the ones to pass a law to make it illegal. Of course Bush also dropped the ball ... he should have been screaming bloody murder about their irresponsible behavior, but didn't.

Even more ironic ... citizens are now mad at Bush because he's been spending money like a drunken liberal sailor, over extending the country. So in response, people now want "change" in the form of another high-spending liberal, instead of a guy being labelled as "just like Bush" who wants to slash government/spending. Nope, you couldn't write irony like this ... nobody would believe it.

Might be time to move to Canada. At least they have plenty of oil to pay for their socialism and entitlements. For now, I'll stay in the good ol' USSA ... the United Socialist States of America. Should be a few more good years before liberal socialism destroys the country.

I think that most of the media is very one-sided showing favor to Obama. He seems to get more media coverage than anyone else. I think the polls are not accurate and are saying what the media wants, which is Obama to President. [CNET editors' note: Inappropriate material deleted.]

...and all the Christian principals this country was founded on will be the enemy of the state. The tribulation will be coming. Christians and most white people will be jailed if they don't agree with this socialistic state. This is what the media is supporting. I am praying very hard that America opens her eyes to this deception. The AntiChrist is here and the media and Hollywood celebrities are worshiping him...and the Bible talks about 7 years of great tribulation. These are very scary times. I am voting for Christians, who believe in America, same sex marriages, and No to abortions. I believe there are a lot of us silent to the polls and underestimated my the media. This is our only hope.

Why does Bush get blamed for all the country's problems when it has been the powerful Democrats that have been running Washington for these many years? Bush is a lame duck. He has no power. The Congress and the Media took care of that. Why does the Congress have no one to stop them from giving themselves raises and passing anything they want...spending our tax dollars any way they want to. What happend to the checks and balances? I think the best way to fix Medicare...which the Democrats loaned money from...thus the sad state of Medicare...would be to change Congress's health plan and retirement plan TO MEDICARE. I would bet they would fix Medicare quickly if their benefits were there. But everyone in Congress is rich...so they don't need any Medicare...they can pay their own way...they use OUR tax money. Wasn't Congress orignially suppose to be a limited term...not a career for people? How warped is our system. The best thing to do is to vote all of the people out that have been there so long. Might be a breath of fresh air. Washington stinks. The media stinks. Bidden lies through the debate...and the media says HE WON. Guess only deceivers win with the media. America wake up before it is too late. God's protection may be withdrawn...

VOTER FRAUD HAS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS AND IS GOING TO CONTINUE. IT IS IN SMALL COUNTIES AS WELL AS LARGE. I HAVE SEEN IT AND HAVE LIVED THROUGH IT AS A WIFE OF A POLITICIAN. I PRODICT THAT OBAMA WILL WIN BY A LAND SLIDE AND IT WILL BE BY THE HANDS OF PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS ACORN. THE REASON IT EXISTS IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS TO SMALL AN OFFENSE TO PROSECUTE AND WOULD TIE UP COURTS ALL OVER THE LAND. ESPECIALLY NOW THAT EVEN THE OF INDORSEMENT ON CLOTHING IS IN QUESTION. WHAT NEXT?

register to vote!!! We have to save America!!!

Sean Hannity of Fox News is correct about Obama and that is only
the tip of the iceberg (his special was just on Fox.)

I'm just a regular person, but came to the same conclusion as Sean before he ever announced it.

Good grief, what sad sacks. Don't worry about the vote. I hear most of the people who lost their houses as owners of renters around the country can't register to vote until they re-establish themselves and can take a day off work and $15 worth of gas to re-register in time. Unlike all of the rest of us here who sound as if we are better off now than we were 8 years ago, they won't be able to vote with their heart against those who hijacked the Republican party, spent our national wealth for the next two generations, so far, and now tried their last big grab, $770 billion before going out of office, to privatize the rest of what's left in our national treasury.

I'm driving home next week ( I work 150 miles away) to get my absentee ballot in. So I guess that's a short way of saying that I'm not better off than I was 8 years ago, 4 years ago, or one year ago. I am older now, and every few months I get one of those pages with all the pictures of those who died in iraq afghanistan, and go off by myself and say the names, the age, the towns and look in those eyes of those young men and women who died, and after 200 or so wish that I could trade my life at 60 for a few of them to be able to live theirs as long as I have.

These are hard times, Neither fear or the blame-game will bring us nowhere. One things clear with the latest bailout (the Last Big Grab) - we sure can't afford war no more.

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind since then. About six months ago, I started thinking "where did the money come from for Obama". I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. "Barry" (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a "round the world" trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family. My question - Where did! id he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It's not cheap! to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By "chance" he met Antoin "Tony" Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named "Entrepreneur of the Decade" by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association". About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented "Rezar" which Rezko's firm. Rezko ! was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with "seed money" for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was "sacked" after the press found out he was having regular contacts with "Hamas", which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will "Take care of things".

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those "small" Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on "This Week" with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, "My Muslim faith". When questioned, "he made a mistake". Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our "intelligent" members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - "Beware of the enemy from within"!!! Debbie

I think most of the stuff you wrote( without your slants, interpretations and wikipedia quips) was covered in his autobiographies and is covered in other articles reported over the years. I passed your piece along to my 87-year old mother who researched him quite a bit, since I remember just from listening to her how he got through his earlier years.

We have seen the enemy within for a number of years, and our constitutional rights and "entitlements" as Americans, and even veterans-- trashed, and have been called unpatriotic whenever we objected. Our national wealth has been given away and our children and grand children have been sold down the river in the biggest financial grabs to shady corporations who methodically sucked all they they could out of the federal operations budgets, and from cotracts during the wars on iraq and Afghanistan and piled up trillions in national debt.

This $770 billion bailout was the current administration's last grab but somewhat foiled by Congress (having just read the first 250 pages of the 453 page bailout bill that was passed by the House and Senate).

Since midnight and as we speak the world stock stock markets are collapsing in sequence as they open as dawn breaks around the globe. We need competent, and intelligent leadership at the top.

Quit all this Karl Rove nonsense and telling us to Beware. Shame on you!
We are Americans, and, yes, we are quite wasteful and spoiled-- but we have moved far beyond fear. Adrenal glands can only grow so large after 8 years of fear-mongering and then they don't function anymore.

We are a strong, patriotic and creative nation, and we spoke out in millions against the bailout as first written on three pages, and the time for corrupt, incompetent, and arrogant leadership is so over.

Keep saying whatever you want to-- but don't mess our head about fear. Pailin opened her speech with the party line -- using "fear" a few times in her first sentences. Since when do "Pit bulls with lipstick and soccer moms" talk of fear. Watch our when desperate pit bulls start talking of fear-- there's something wrong, and it has nothing to do with Barak or Barry.

My mother, (who read your detailed analysis) researched Obama beyond his books and goes regularly to the library for research just yelled up the stairs to me and said: "What a lot of trash-- they're just making this up! " and went off to her morning walk.

If we want to do something of value, call one friend who lost their house and ask if they forgot to register to vote under their new address. In some states it is already too late.

If you don't know anyone who did lose their house or is in the process - then at least step outside the door and look around or go back to your old neighborhood and look at the for sale or foreclosure signs. Look at what is happening and let it soak in -- not as fear, but as sadness and then determination to hold everyone on the public payroll accountable for what they do with our tax dollars starting from those within our reach locally from the bottom up. There are only a few levels of politicians from the bottom to the top.
