Fox plans to distribute their content on both their own website and also on some of their affiliates' sites. This will help Fox to keep a consistent experience on their own website, while also allowing them to easily push their new video content out to multiple sites through Brightcove's rich service. According to Brightcove's press release, a user generated content system will also be in place for use by Fox's viewers.
It's nice to see a major network taking such a big leap into internet video, although they are not the first. Fox had previously offered some online video functionality and other T.V. companies like ABC and Comedy Central also have great online video offerings. However, if implemented correctly, I think Fox's new Brightcove-powered solution could blow the others out of the water.
