Two words for the same thing?

You say either and I say either,
You say neither and I say neither
Either, either
Neither, neither,
Let's call the whole thing off.

Ultra-portable Apple notebook to splash down at Macworld Expo

You like potato and I like potahto,
You like tomato and I like tomahto
Potato, potahto,
Tomato, tomahto,
Let's call the whole thing off

Apple Tablet PC is real, says Asus

But oh, if we call the whole thing off
Then we must part
And oh, if we ever part, then that might break my heart

Steve Jobs, 10 months ago:

Are you getting it? These are not ... separate devices. This is one device!

Hmm. Well, it's just a thought the Macalope had in the wee hours of the night as the nymphs kept him awake with their incessant dancing.

Stupid nymphs.

Nymphs... how to deal with 'em.
by STrRedWolf November 19, 2007 6:24 AM PST
I had them for a while. I then took a tip from the Two Thousand Year Old Man and started eating garlic before bed. They split after a week and haven't bothered me since.

And is it a Coincidence?

That Asus just released a (highly-regarded) micro PC?

(No.)

You know, I've been thinking the exact. Same. Thing.

How does that work?

The tablet is basically a big iPhone, with a large screen that's good for watching movies and web-browsing.

The ultra-portable is basically a small MacBook, lacking optical and possibly hard drive to cut down on weight and thickness.

There is no magical point in the middle where these two product lines meet.

Oh, right...

Just as there was no way Apple could make a phone with one button.

The idea's just a thought but even so there are already laptops that swivel
the lid around to make a tablet. Apple's able to produce something better
than that, though.

An ultra-portable notebook, a tablet computer, and a Kindle-killing ebook reader.

Oh, lets we forget the Zaurus and those penguins.

"And shall the iPhone and the MacBook never meet, for it hasn't been done."

*pulls out his built-on-Linux Sharp Zaurus C-1000* It's been done. Oh, and it's next to latest in the long line of Zauruses that merge tablet and laptop. The first was the C600-series, followed by the C700 series, C800 series, C3000, C3100, C1000, and C3200.

The only problem is, you have to import 'em from Japan.

15 sites that went kaput in 2009

Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.

Top 10 news stories of the decade

Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.

About The Macalope: An Apple blog

Born of the earth, forged in fire, the Macalope was branded "nonstandard" and "proprietary" by the IT world and considered a freak of nature. Part man, part Mac, and part antelope, the Macalope set forth on a quest to save his beloved platform. Long-eclipsed by his more prodigious cousin, the jackalope (they breed like rabbits, you know), the Macalope's time has come. Apple news and rumormonger extraordinaire, the Macalope provides a uniquely polymorphic approach. He is a member of the CNET Blog Network and is not an employee of CNET. Disclosure.
