The ultra-portable is basically a small MacBook, lacking optical and possibly hard drive to cut down on weight and thickness.
There is no magical point in the middle where these two product lines meet.
The idea's just a thought but even so there are already laptops that swivel
the lid around to make a tablet. Apple's able to produce something better
than that, though.
An ultra-portable notebook, a tablet computer, and a Kindle-killing ebook reader.

(8 Comments)*pulls out his built-on-Linux Sharp Zaurus C-1000* It's been done. Oh, and it's next to latest in the long line of Zauruses that merge tablet and laptop. The first was the C600-series, followed by the C700 series, C800 series, C3000, C3100, C1000, and C3200.
The only problem is, you have to import 'em from Japan.
