Speaking of facts.

Your reference to Catcher in the Rye was a near miss: Salinger's book was banned at one tim in much the same inspiration that sparked your rant.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Our current culture of fear is nothing new.

I like how Linux is used in all sort of devices, but what is Linux's obsession with the desktop? What do they get out of it? Is this all about taking down Microsoft out of spite because they are a monopoly?

I thoroughly enjoyed your Interview with Jason Calacanis. He always has good observations on the industry. The Linux segment was revealing: I hadn't actually thought about how many devices we use daily run on that platform. As for your rant, doesn't it once again show how special interest groups and lobbiests have bought our politicians and legislators? When votes are at stake, or there are any potential changes to the status quo, they're always ready to write new laws to "protect" us, all the while pandering to the vocal minority.
