Sure when consumers are asked they say they care about picture quality, but then you see them at the store and notice that most of the time people go for the brightest screen.

Kinda like people thinking the loudest speakers are the best quality.

Agreed. I've seen and heard people in awe over a crappy SD image being played on an HDTV.
