I totally agree with your view on video games. I think the problem is that most parents don't have the experience you and I have with video games and rely on (false) common sense. Because of this lack of education, they are swayed by people like the Marine who writes the anti-video game books, Jack Thompson and conservative media, which is a shame.

If a parent is worried, they should get a copy of Grand Theft Childhood, which is very comprehensive and reiterates many of the things defenders of video games have been saying for a couple of years.
