Google again delays debut of Project 10^100 ideas
Google had planned to announce on Tuesday the ideas for its Project 10-to-the-100th to improve the world through Google-sponsored work, but the search giant delayed the announcement a second time.
"We will unfortunately have to delay announcing the top ideas for Project 10^100 for a while longer. We've never managed a project like this and it's taken more time than we ever imagined possible. We apologize for our overoptimistic assumptions about how quickly we could analyze all the ideas that we've received, and thank everyone for their patience," said Andy Berndt, managing director of the Google Creative Lab, in an update to the January 26 blog post that announced the first delay.
Through the project, Google invited people to submit ideas for projects that could change the world for the better. Google is working on presenting the projects, and then plans to let the public vote on the top 20. An advisory board will select five that actually will be funded with $10 million.
"Beyond a certain very basic level of material wealth, the only thing that increases individual happiness over time is helping other people," Google said when announcing the project in September. "If you have an idea that you believe would help somebody, we want to hear about it. We're looking for ideas that help as many people as possible, in any way, and we're committing the funding to launch them. You can submit your ideas and help vote on ideas from others."
The name of the project refers to a googol, the number of 1 followed by 100 zeros.

Really, the blame for the downshift in the economy lies squarely on Obama, or O-bomb-a.
The stimulus plan didn't work, AIG is giving away my money, and they are already raising taxes in areas.
This has been a nightmarish 2 months, just imagine 3 or 4 or 5?!
My idea "Virtual World" is selected in Google - Project 10^100.
Please vote for it to make it real!

When all those negative functions will be under control, the world might become an unified land of cooperation and realistic thoughts.

I submitted my project for Health, I would expect Google to give everyone some idea when we will see the short list, this does not show favorable for Google's credibility.
However, we heard nothing from google for a long time.
Without an actual deadline or any milestones, it makes it easy to back-burner going through the entries, but a lot of people spent a lot of time (and put a lot of thought) into trying to submit stuff that they thought would benefit the world.
Maybe they should think about crowd-sourcing the entries and have them be rated publicly, which would help them sift through everything faster.
@Stephen Shankland: This is something a reporter would need to follow-up on in order to get any information from them. Is there any chance you could light a fire under them? There's literally no information online with any updates... Thanks!
The reason why I am saying is, I have submitted an idea related to power managent , "energy management using intetnet protocols, and I saw google started implementnting the same in feb 2009, see http://www.google.org/powermeter/ I can give one more example here. Did any one have same experience ?
Is google really stealing our ideas?
>Did any one have same experience ?
Yes,Even I had slight feeling whether my idea ( regard to approaching online ads ) is implemented.
I sent a mail to them enquiring whether it's just a coincidence or my idea being implemented by them.
Awaiting for reply from them.
>Is google really stealing our ideas?
I don't think so,I hope they won't do that.
(An Q&A from here http://www.project10tothe100.com/faq.html)
Q: What do I get if my idea is chosen?
A: You get good karma and the satisfaction of knowing that your idea might truly help a lot of people.

Eventhough I mailed them, no response received yet !

If I do come to know, right ? :)

Somebody with pull at CNET please contact Google and get them to get their act together. We 150,000 submitters have put a lot of effort into this, now its their turn.
Does anyone agree to my statement?
Does anyone agree with my idea?
As far as running out of money, Google just yesterday reported strong earnings for its second quarter, taking in $5.52 billion revenue representing a 3% increase over Q2 08, so I don't think that will be a problem. Hang in there, its got to be our turn next.
My idea "Virtual World" is selected in Google - Project 10^100.
Please vote for it to make it real!

1. "method for potentiating drugs"
Electrical vagus stimulation is considered as the most effective method of treatment of such diseases as epilepsy, depression, chronic pain, drug addiction, obesity, resisted to action of drugs. However the mentioned method demands expensive operation and is not safe (it can cause cardiac arrest, bronchospasm, abdominal pains and other complications.). I suggest safe method of the chemical stimulation of the receptors of vagal afferents by agonists of peripheral receptors: cholecystokinin (CCK), glutamate, ??P, epinephrine, phenylephrine, carbacholine and adenosine, weakly penetrating into CNS, which in small, not causing side-effects doses after systemic or oral administration selectively stimulate chemoceptors of vagal afferents. Chemical stimulation of vagal afferents by agonists of peripheral receptors eliminates pain, depression, anxiety, convulsions, hypoxia, inflammation, neurodegeneration, psychosis, extrapyramidal disorder , stress disorder, that the most important thing, in tens and hundreds times potentiates action of analgesics, antidepressants, antiepileptics, neuroleptics, antiparkinsonian drugs, neuroprotective drugs, antihypoxic agent, stress protective agents without increasing of side- effects of drugs (US patent 6.833.377, US patent application 20050192220). In contrast to expensive and unsafe method of the electrical vagus stimulation the offered method of chemical vagus stimulation is safe, cheap and accessible to patients as allows to use agonists of peripheral receptors in the standard dosage form (solutions, tablets, syrups, granules) or can be added to dosage form of known drugs. The method does not have any disadvantages, except one - he is not necessary to known pharmaceutical companies as decreases of doses of drugs and, in addition, substitution of these drugs to cheap stimulators of vagal afferents (which any patient can independently use) may cause to drop in profit of pharmaceutical firms. The idea can be realised quickly enough, for two years term because the used substances are allowed to clinical application. As a whole, the idea is devoted to the problem of creating of the simple and accessible method of chemical stimulation of vagus for the purpose of mass treatment of many diseases, and also potentiation of effects of analgesics, antidepressants, neuroleptics, antiepileptics, antiparkinsonian drugs, neuroprotective drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, antihypoxics agent, stress protective agents without side-effects and complications. Realisation of the idea will allow to reduce considerably doses and to eliminate side-effects of known drugs, and in the long term - to substitute these drugs with much cheaper chemical stimulators of vagal afferents which any patient can independently use without limitation. Means are necessary for carrying out of the preclinical researches in animal models of pain, depression, epilepsy, parkinsonism, hypoxia, anxiety, psychosis, neurodegeneration, inflammation and also for carrying out of toxicological researches in animals. At the second stage it is supposed to estimate safety of the method on volunteers and to spend 1 stage of clinical trials. Successful completion of preclinical and clinical experiments will allow to suggest simple and accessible method of chemical stimulation of vagus for treatment of many illnesses, and also method of potentiation of effect of analgetics, antidepressants, neuroleptics, antiepileptics, antiparkinsonian drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, neuroprotective drugs, antihypoxic agent, stress protective agents without side-effects and complications.
