As competition heats up between Sony and Microsoft over their upcoming game consoles, Sony is said to be adding a new feature to its PlayStation 4 -- voice recognition.
This feature reportedly comes via the new PlayStation "Eye" Camera, according to Polygon. It's said to be similar to Microsoft's Xbox One Kinect 2 capabilities in that it has facial recognition technology and can follow navigational voice commands. Apparently, Sony revealed this voice recognition detail to its retail staff at the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas last week.
The PlayStation Camera will be sold separately from the console and costs $60. The console will cost $399 in the US. Sony plans to launch its upcoming gaming platform in the US on November 15 and in Europe on November 30. Microsoft is aiming to debut its new Xbox One in November also.
CNET contacted Sony for comment. We'll update this story when we get more information.
