Report: Microsoft latest leaning is to go hostile
Microsoft is leaning toward a hostile attempt to acquire Yahoo, the Wall Street Journal reported, saying an announcement is likely to arrive Friday.
The newspaper said the situation is fluid, though, its Thursday night report. Translation: The paper is giving itself a lot of wiggle room.
Microsoft declined to comment on the report.
Microsoft has various options in its attempt to acquire Yahoo. Hostile ones include making a tender offer directly to shareholders and offering an opposing slate for election to Yahoo's board of directors.
