Yahoo late on Messenger for Vista
Windows users await Yahoo Messenger for Vista.
(Credit: Yahoo)A CNET News.com reader served as my personal tickler file this week, asking me if I knew when Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista will be released.
In January, Yahoo previewed a version of Messenger optimized for Vista and said it would be released in public beta during the second quarter, which ended June 30. So, they are about three months behind schedule.
I asked Yahoo about it and here is the company's reply: "We continue to actively work on Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista and look forward to sharing updates and information including the beta launch of the new service. We will keep you up to date on launch timing but in the meantime, information is available on the Yahoo Messenger blog and the Yahoo Messenger for Windows Vista product page."
Curious about a delay with a product? Got some other tip you want us to follow up on? Send them our way.

switched back to XP from Vista, donno if it is going to work on XP
though.
signs of a beta 2. Maybe if Yahoo would quit trying to take down
Google and MySpace we'd have it already!
- my persistence

- It was because of my persistence, to my knowledge at least, that got Yahoo to post an update found on their blog site at: http://blog.messenger.yahoo.com/blog/2007/10/17/yahoo-messenger-for-windows-vista-getting-closer/

- I don't think it was because of 'your persistence' but because 90% of people on that blog, comment and request an update for Yahoo Messenger for Vista no matter what is in the blog subject line. And also this is not the first, but second http://blog.messenger.yahoo.com/blog/2007/06/26/so-you-want-to-hear-about-vista/ <fake> update from them. However, if it makes you happy to take a credit for some update from Yahoo that didn't tell us anything new or precise, go for it!

(13 Comments)I've been posting comments requesting to know the release date or even an update for the release of their promoted product. I did this on each and every blog posting they've posted and some if not all of my comments got deleted. Until finally they posted the first update that they've put since the public acknowledgment of Yahoo Messenger for Vista. They posted release date as "getting closer." Check it out guys. I know I'm running late on this but I'm trying to spread the word out the Vista users.
One more thing, I still get a smile of relief reading the first sentence "Thanks to everyone for your enthusiastic comments on this blog..."
