Cell phones, impotence and alternative energy
Ethanol is one of the more contentious issues in the alternative energy world today. Some say corn ethanol can help wean the U.S. off its massive dependence on foreign oil. We consume 21 million barrels of oil a day and two thirds comes from overseas, and a good portion of that comes from democracy-friendly places like Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates.
Others say ethanol won't be viable until we get cellulosic ethanol made from wood chips and microorganisms.
The catch? Scientists are still trying to figure out how to do this on a grand scale. Bruce Ferguson, CEO of EdenSpace, however, says science will show the way. Unexpected results will follow.
He even has an analogy: "Remember when people thought cell phones caused cancer? Well, it's a myth. They actually cause impotence," he said.
