Bug found in Vista security guide

Microsoft has updated its " Windows Vista Security Guide" because the earlier version contained an error.

The online guide is meant for organizations planning to use Vista in a domain with Microsoft's Active Directory service. It provides instructions and recommendations that are designed to help strengthen the security of desktop and laptop computers running Vista in such a setup, according to Microsoft.

Version 1.1 of the Windows Vista Security Guide, when followed, causes some of the group policy objects to not be created correctly, a Microsoft representative wrote in a blog post on Friday.

The erroneous version of the guide was available for download from December 4 through December 14, according to Microsoft. An update, version 1.2, is now available.
