A taste of honey

Well, some Beatles music is finally available online, though it might not be what you were pining for.

Four new remixes of "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Octopus' Garden," "Lady Madonna" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" have been released on the EMI Beatles Web site to promote the new Love album that comes out on Nov. 20.

Love is a series of mixes from the Abbey Road Studios master tapes made by Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono Lennon, Olivia Harrison and Sir George Martin for a new Cirque du Soleil show, according to EMI.

But The Beatles' full catalog may also soon be available for download, according to a report from the Sunday Times of London.

A hint of "soon" was given by David Munns, the head of EMI's North American division, at a Web conference in San Francisco, according to the report.

EMI has been mum on details about the Beatles catalog being released online, however, and Munns did not clarify whether he was referring to the catalog controlled by EMI and Apple Corps, or only the new Love album.
