There are now more than 100 million Web sites on earth,
Netcraft says there've been over 27 million new Web sites added in 2006. Many new sites are for small business or blogs.
Traditional media in the U.S. is feeling the pressure as people spend more time online, and advertising dollars siphon off to Web sites.
So far the Internet effect is NOT global. Newspapers around the world are still increasing in number and revenue.
The rapid growth of Web sites may not continue indefinitely. But we're still far from having more than a site per person, so hang on. One hundred years ago nobody imagined there'd ever be more than one automobile per household in the U.S.
