Homemade car gets 105 mpg

Two of the hotter trends in consumer technology are environmentally friendly products and do-it-yourself gadgetry--so why not combine them? That's what inventor Jory Squibb has done with the "Moonbeam," a DIY car that he claims can get up to 105 miles per gallon in optimal conditions.

Squibb says the project took about $2,500--and 1,000 hours--to complete. So if you have a lot of time on your hands and are so inclined, check out the step-by-step instructions on his Web site.
