Quote of the day: 'No hereditary kings in America'

U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, in her landmark decision Thursday ruling the National Security Agency's warrantless surveillance program unconstitutional, dismissed claims by the Bush administration that the program falls within the president's inherent wartime powers as commander in chief.

"There are no hereditary kings in America and no powers not created by the Constitution," she wrote.
