Wiki.com expands wiki-hosting options

by

Count wiki.com as another business devoted to making wikis--or jointly authored and edited web site--as common as plain old Web sites.

MindTouch, a company which makes pre-packaged "wiki appliances," said on Monday that it is supplying the back-end software for wiki.com, a wiki hosting service which is still in beta.

"Wikis are the quickest way for you, your team, or your community to establish a unique online presence," the wiki.com says.

The domain name for wiki.com was purchased for $2.86 million by entrepreneur John Gotts. Gotts weighs in on whether he paid too much on a discussion at Digg.com.
