Strike three for Apple's MacBook?

It's only been a couple of months since Apple released its MacBook line, but there have already been three significant product complaints. First, some MacBooks were coming from the factory with a plastic film covering the rear exit vent, which made them run hot. Then some customers started noticing a yellow discoloration on the plastic wrist rests. And now customers are reporting problems with their machines randomly turning off.

One of the first reports of the random shutdown issue was posted on Apple's support site on July 1. Apple closed the discussion thread on July 26, after the number of responses topped 600.

According to customer anecdotes on the Apple site and around the Web, the shutdowns are occurring at different frequencies. For some, it happens daily, for others, hourly. Some are able to reboot after pressing the power button a couple of times. Others say they have to unplug the power adapter and reinstall the battery to get it to power up.

An Apple representative could not be reached for comment on the issue and the company has not yet responded on the discussion board.

Jeez that thing is riddled with problems. Fortunately for me it doesnt shut down on it?s own yet? but the plastics are cracking, screen is flickering, power cord malfunctioning, and audio jack has a mind of its own. If it wasn?t for AppleCare I would say this is the worst product for its money, and that is unfortunate enough because Apple does put out some nice things.
Check out my blog Chimbles.com , and you will thank your lucky stars that this is the only problems you have.

Take care,

Apple has terrible support for a horrid product. I made the mistake and bought to four mac books. Two won't connect to the home network any more. They will connect to the Apple Store or Best Buy wireless so they blame my network even though i have two other macs and a dell that can connect to the internet. In fact, the two macs that no longer can connect were able to connect a week ago and suddenly they can't. Apple has no answers and no fixes. There are loads of inquiries on the same things which tells me apple has a glitch and their customers are left in the dust. apple is pathetic!
