Quote of the day: Meth gun is like a full-feature phone

A new handheld, battery-operated device--as yet unnamed---transmits ultraviolet rays onto surfaces and detects illegal drugs, like crystal meth. But it's a multifunctional device that performs wired or wireless data uploading and downloading, time- and date- stamps its tests, stores the results, and even features a small camera for taking pictures of suspects.

"It's sort-of like the Motorola Razr phone with as many functions as it has," said Wade Poteet, a principal scientist working in the research lab for CDEX, the company developing the device, which looks like a traffic radar gun.
