Apple iTunes offers first full-length film
Having conquered music and video downloads, Apple Computer is apparently setting its sites on full-length films.
The Disney-produced "High School Musical," a 90-minute, made-for-TV production was recently made available for $9.99 on Apple's iTunes.
A move into films by Apple has been anticipated since the company started selling videos last October. After Apple CEO Steve Jobs became a Disney board member in January, a joint venture to offer films over iTunes almost seemed like a foregone conclusion.
Industry insiders said they could imagine a day when "Snow White" or "Dumbo" would make digital debuts on iTunes. No word yet from Apple on whether it intends to offer a full array of feature films.
An Apple spokesman was unavailable for comment.
