Gems made from the carbon of loved ones

A recent post in this space, about a product that captures the breath of loved ones for posterity, drew some interesting reader responses. Most were expressions of disgust, but one noted another controversial keepsake called LifeGem, "a certified, high-quality diamond created from the carbon of your loved one as a memorial to their unique life"--pets included.
