Oracle CFO Maffei to step down

by Mike Ricciuti

Oracle said on Thurday that its CFO Greg Maffei, with the company less than four months, will leave the software maker effective November 15.

"Greg has told us he's looking at a terrific professional opportunity," Oracle CEO Larry Ellison said in a statement. "We wish him well."

In the statement, Maffei said: "My resignation from Oracle is not a reflection on the company, its executives or employees. And I wish Oracle and my former co-workers the very best."

Oracle said co-president Safra Catz will take on the additional responsibility of CFO.
