'Star Wars' has multimedia Halloween

Just in time for Halloween, the "Star Wars" universe just got a whole lot bigger.

On the one hand, you've got the release on DVD of the film critics called the "best" of the prequels--and boy, isn't that like saying getting run over by a bicycle is better than getting run over by a bus?

On the other hand, there's the release Monday of the new "Star Wars Battlefront II" for, like, every single video game console in the world.

According to the video game blog Kotaku, the new "Star Wars" game is a third-person shooter in which players will face life-and-death situations throughout the entire "Star Wars" universe. That includes battles in space, a marked improvement from the ground-based action of the first installment.

What's it all mean? Well, more money for George Lucas and his legions of workers. But also just more for the never-ending storyline that is the universe of Luke, Leia, Darth Vader, Annakin and the rest of the gang we know and love so much. Well, of course, except for Jar Jar Binks. We so don't love him so much.
