We protect, dress, even accessorize our iPods. Meanwhile, our earbuds get neglected, tossed and tangled with little regard--that is--until they're broken.

But no longer do earbuds have to suffer such an inferiority complex. Joining the ranks of the earPod case, SendStation last week announced its new earbud protection solution--the earBuddy--which will help you "protect your loved ones," the company said.

The jewelry box-sized ballistic nylon case has an type of thermoplastic reel inside and is built to withstand 200 pounds of force, SendStation said. It weighs less than an ounce, comes with a detachable key ring and will be available in either all black, or silver with orange trim. Pricing has not yet been determined and the case won't be for sale until the end of the month, the company said.

One iLounge reader said he plans to buy the earBuddy to replace the cufflink case he now uses for his earbuds. Someone else said it doesn't seem worth having a case unless you have expensive earphones. And "Pam," who just bought earPods, said the earBuddy is "wayyyy cuter! Tres chic."
