Site baffles gamers

In a brilliant example of viral marketing, the significance behind the Web site OrigenXbox360.com has had gamers scratching their heads since its launch.

The site currently shows a tree with three pairs of green fruit dangling from the branches, two cut-outs of green rabbits sitting under it, and a clock counting down to Sept. 27th. But subtle changes have been made over the course of its life, with fruit disappearing, then reappearing, and the rabbits coming, going and changing positions.

Gamers have been speculating as to the significance of the objects, trying to glean clues as to what the clock is counting down to. Last week the site got even more mysterious as several sites reported finding a Latin phrase inscribed on one of the tree's branches. The prevailing theory seems to be that the clock is counting down to an official announcement of the game Halo 3, but skeptics aren't so sure.
