CNN reporters create a Web hurricane

A CNN meteorologist reporting on Hurricane Katrina has created a storm of his own, this one centered in the blogosphere.

A video clip is blowing fiercely around the Web of an apparently sleep-deprived Chad Myers losing it with Daybreak anchor Carol Costello during a live broadcast at 4:32 a.m. Monday. Costello interrupts Myers' jargon-heavy weather report asking for a translation and saying: "I don't know what that means." Myers literally throws his paper down in a bit of a fit and says: "Well, if you would let me talk..."

Bloggers pointed to another Katrina broadcast blooper in which Fox News anchor Shepard Smith asks a man walking his dogs on a New Orleans street why he was still hanging around Sunday despite the forecast. The man uses an expletive in his answer and Smith has to recover. Ah, the beauty (or ugliness) of 24-hour live news cycle.
