A picture is worth a thousand words

Want a birds-eye view of the Australian nuclear reactor in Sydney, or perhaps the country's Parliament House in Canberra?

Google's satellite images provide enough of a sneak peak of the nuclear reactor to prompt initial concern from the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation officials, according to a report in the The Australian publication.

Although officials with the nuclear science organization noted the satellite images do not pose any greater risk than pictures currently available to the public through other means, they are keenly aware that Google censors the image of the White House and key government buildings in the U.S.

Google did not respond to calls seeking comment. (Google representatives have instituted a policy of not talking with CNET News.com reporters until July 2006 in response to privacy issues raised by a previous story.)
