Happy System Administrator Appreciation Day
I'm still waiting to hear when Editor Appreciation Day is (correcting errant commas and extraneous apostrophes is hard work, you know). But today isn't about me or the others on the grammar police force. Today is the sixth annual System Administrator Appreciation Day, officially celebrated on the last Friday of July--by international chapters in six countries.
The day is set aside to honor those who work long, thankless hours rebooting our servers, locking down our networks and generally fixing every problem that comes up with the computers most office workers have no clue how to operate.
So happy System Administrator Appreciation Day, everyone. We'd love to let you guys take the day off, but let's face it. We'd be lost without you.
