Wide-screen iBooks could be in sight

by Ina Fried
A report by Taiwan's DigiTimes says that Quanta has received an order for a wide-screen iBook with a 14.1-inch display. The laptop could ship as early as the fourth quarter, DigiTimes said. Apple, of course, already sells a 14-inch iBook, but not with a wide-screen setup.

The report also says that Asustek, the current maker of the iBook, has gotten an order for a 15.4-inch wide-screen iBook, though that model won't come until next year.

Sadly, there was no word on when we might see that G5 Powerbook everyone is waiting for.
