Al Gore jumps on video blogging
Gore and business partner Joel Hyatt announced a new 24-hour television network aimed at the 18- to 34-year-old audience. Viewers will contribute segments and have input on show programming. The network, formerly called INdTV, has been renamed Current.tv. It was announced on Monday and will officially launch Aug. 1.
In describing the new station, Gore--who helped to popularize the term "information superhighway"--said to think of the network as a video blog, bringing interactivity to the TV.
The former vice president also has support from search powerhouse Google, a company for which he has been a senior adviser.
