Microsoft's Jim Gray on software's future

Jim Gray, a Microsoft "distinguished engineer" and manager of the company's Bay Area research center, talks to the Microsoft Developer Network's Channel 9 about databases, software design and where the industry is headed. Gray, a data software pioneer, is the engineer behind SQL Server and Microsoft's Terra Service Web site among other projects. Beware: The video is nearly an hour long. But it's well worth the time to hear Gray discuss database trends and software's future.
