Ex-Google employee Mark Jen, booted for blogging, has landed a new job.

The author of the 99zeros blog said he's signed on as an engineer with Plaxo, a Mountain View, Calif.-based start-up that promises to keep your address book always updated.

Reached on his first day of renewed employment, Jen said he had also recently interviewed with Amazon and Microsoft. He said he liked Plaxo because of the people and the product.

"It satisfies a personal pain point I've had before using computers to stay up to date with people," he said.

CNET News.com first heard about Plaxo about a year ago, when public-relations contacts began blasting automated e-mail requests for contact updates using the tool. Since then, the company has signed up 5 million users, according to a January press release.

Jen's blog was still mum about the new job as of late Monday. But he's been busy busting his former employer's chops, in part by linking to cultural fallout from his run-in with Google. That includes a remix of Jay-Z's song "99 problems," based loosely on events surrounding his dismissal.

"Not all of the song is completely accurate, but I would say it's definitely entertaining," Jen wrote Saturday.
