The movie trailer for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" has shown up online, in a featured spot on Amazon.com.

The film, set to debut April 29, is based on the popular books and radio show created by the late Douglas Adams.

The saga has long been popular among techies. It spawned an early text-based computer game, and even a Web version of the eponymous encyclopedia.

The tradition has continued, with filmmakers writing a blog about the making of the movie, which stars Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Sam Rockwell, Zooey Deschanel, and Bill Nighy.
