"Just launched in the U.K. and France apparently," Rdio developer Ian McKeller tweeted earlier today. "Happy now?" He was responding to another Twitter user who apparently leaked the news.
According to The Verge, there are other reports of Rdio moving into the U.K. and France and that initially it will offering people an unlimited listening free trial for seven days. However, Rdio has yet to make this announcement officially.
Launched in August 2010, the San Francisco-based music service is already available in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, and Denmark. It has on-demand access to more than 15 million songs and is available on the Web, smartphones, tablets, Sonos speaker systems, and Rokus.
Rdio costs $4.99 per month for Web use and $9.99 per month for unlimited use on any platform. According to The Verge, in the U.K. the music service will cost $8.10 (4.99 pounds) per month for Web use and $16.20 (9.99 pounds) per month for unlimited access.
