The current GOP presidential candidates might want to consider using AOL as their e-mail handler to reach out to supporters.

According to poll results released today by Poll Position, AOL e-mail is a favorite among Republicans, with some 20 percent picking it as the best service.

Poll Position says it conducted the survey among 1,184 registered voters nationwide on November 10, 2011. The poll results are weighted to be a representative sampling of all American adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent. You can see a complete breakdown the poll participant by age, race, gender, and political affiliation here.

Among Democrats surveyed, only 5.3 percent picked AOL as their favorite. They prefer either Google (27.3 percent) or Yahoo (25.4 percent).

Among independents, Google was the top pick at 23 percent, followed by Yahoo at 20 percent, and AOL at 10 percent.

Ignoring party lines, 22.8 percent of Americans at-large now pick Google as their preferred e-mail service and 20.2 percent choosing Yahoo, Poll Position found.

Google was the most popular for those polled in the age group of 30 to 44 (36.5 percent) while Yahoo was the preferred choice of those ages 45- to 64-years-old.
