They work them hard in German banks.
They make the eat, breathe, and sleep their jobs. Especially that last one.
At least that's the impression that must be gleaned from the tale of a German bank employee who fell asleep on his computer keyboard.
Oh, we've all done it. We've all woken up hours later to read that we just wrote: "CHHCHCHCHCHCCHCHCHCHCCCO."
And yet this bank employee seems to have fallen asleep during a transfer of funds.
More Technically Incorrect
As Agence France-Presse tells it, a court in Hessen heard that he was supposed to send 62.40 euros from the account of a retiree.
Instead, he slumped on the keyboard and offered special pressure to the number 2.
Some lucky recipient was suddenly 222,222,222 euros ($293 million) richer.
You may imagine that a colleague or superior might have noticed this suspicious, perhaps even superstitious, transfer.
Sadly, that's why they were all in court. His colleague didn't notice and was fired.
However, the court decided that he should be reinstated and that the 222,222,222 euros should be immediately dispatched to Greece.
I am kidding. But only about the last part.
