Intel is the king of PCs, but it hasn't always been ahead of evolving innovations. Its processors power more than 80 percent of the world's computers and the vast majority of its servers, but Intel has made little headway in smartphones and tablets. To spur interest in PCs again, as well as persuade more mobile device makers to use its chips, Intel has devoted significant resources and efforts to something it calls "perceptual … Read more
At the risk of incurring Android fanboy wrath, Google Now is a lot like Apple's Siri: it responds to voice commands and can perform lots of cool and practical functions.
Of course, like Siri, it comes without an instruction manual. And, in fact, if you invoke the help command or look at Google's own support page, you'll get only an abbreviated list of the available voice actions.
Over at Trendblog.net, however, there's a new infographic listing around 60 Google Now voice commands, everything from Communication to Notes & Reminders to Easter Eggs.
I'll admit … Read more
On paper, Sony and Microsoft's next-generation game consoles are quite similar. Both systems include an 8-core AMD processor, 8GB of RAM, and a high-end AMD Radeon graphics card. In reality, however, they are the complete opposite.
While Sony is pushing for more of a pure gaming machine (the PlayStation 4 is actually a little more powerful than the Xbox One), Microsoft is positioning its console as an all-in-one home entertainment system. The PlayStation 4 has its own fair share of streaming services such as Netflix, Redbox Instant, and Crackle, but there is one thing it doesn't have -- … Read more

The update adds a few noteworthy new features to the mix, most of which Android users have already been enjoying. Here'… Read more
Apple's Siri has been the target of a lot of insults. But the latest dig on the infamous voice assistant came from Sunday night's episode of "The Simpsons."
Trying to shop at a bowling ball store called Alley McBalls, Homer discovers that it's been closed to make way for a new Apple store. In frustration, Homer throws his bowling ball at the store's entrance only to have it bounce back and hit him in the head.
A nearby store owner sees Homer's predicament and volunteers to ask Siri for a list of nearby hospitals. In response, Siri tells the store owner that it doesn't see any "hos petals" near him and that it's deleting all contact information.… Read more
Bane Talk Voice Changer BTVC alters your voice to sound like the famous villain from "The Dark Knight Rises," making it fun if you are a devoted fan. Don't expect to sound exactly like him, though, as the app doesn't capture the character's signature nasal delivery unless that's how you talk into it, which is disappointing. It does make up for it with some prerecorded Bane noises and quotes.
Even though it can't change your voice in real time, Bane Talk Voice Changer BTVC can record up to 20 seconds of speech and … Read more
