Robot Unicorn Attack 2: More wishes, more powers, more glory

When I first learned that Cartoon Network's Adult Swim released a sequel to Robot Unicorn Attack (RUA) a few days ago on iOS, I could barely contain my excitement.

As one of the first apps I ever downloaded onto my device, it holds a special place in my heart. I forked over $2.99 for it, and ever since then, I was able to travel to a world with so much wonder and color, my eyes cried rainbows after 10 minutes of gameplay.

And while it's hard to improve a game that already features jumping dolphins and severed … Read more

It turns out what is making all of that possible is a Unicorn.

During a crash course Thursday at the company's headquarters, a team of Facebook engineers offered a more detailed glimpse at the magic behind the new, third "pillar" of the world's largest social network's strategy to enable new connections.

Mechanized horned equine assault for Android

Although there are only two buttons available for use (jumping and dashing), players will find themselves overwhelmed by the increasing difficulty of the game as the score gets higher. As the scrolling becomes progressively faster, chain jumping and dashing is required to cross particularly difficult obstacles. Gameplay involves leaping over gorges, collecting fairies, and dashing through giant crystallized stars for further points. The points gained for collecting fairies or dashing through stars increases with every consecutive action. You are awarded with a happily squeaking dolphin rising above from seemingly nowhere every 5,000 points. You get three lives, called wishes. … Read more

Geeks threatened by Pork Board over unicorn meat

Sometimes lawyers don't always spend their time in the most productive ways. Indeed, one wonders whether the lawyers at the firm of Faegre and Benson spent their time productively in reportedly sending out a 12-page cease and desist letter to the japesters at ThinkGeek.com.

I have no nag in this spat, as I can no more understand geeks than I can understand lawyers. Yet ThinkGeek.com is adamant that this cease and desist is heartily genuine and deeply critical of its attempt to sell unicorn meat. Specifically, canned unicorn meat.

Should you be frustrated at missing the opportunity … Read more

ZOMG! Sports lovers who also love glittery pink unicorns with rainbow manes and tails were so in luck earlier Monday. But that's not all. Visitors also got their headlines in hot pink and the Comic Sans font--enough adorable to make any 10-year-old girl forget about Hannah Montana.
