Belkin combines true 450Mbps dual-band and MultiBeam, promises an ultimate router

LAS VEGAS--There's now another true 450Mbps dual-band router on the block.

Belkin announced today at CES 2012 the Advance N900 DB Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router, model F9K1104. This is the company's top-tier wireless router, similar to the already released Linksys E4200 v2 from Cisco or the WNDR4500 of Netgear.

Belkin says it also support its exclusive MultiBeam Technology designed to deliver "a high-powered signal that allows for higher and more-consistent network speeds and minimizes the number of wireless dead spots.&… Read more

Netgear N750 wireless router review: 5GHz for the win

As a matter of fact, it topped the chart on the 2.4GHz band in our close-range throughput test, registering a sustained real-world … Read more

Trendnet demonstrates first 450Mbps dual-band wireless router

LAS VEGAS--During 2010, Trendnet introduced its (and also the world's) first 450Mbps Wireless-N router, the  TEW-691GR, and the TEW-690AP access point. Both of these products, however, support only a single wireless band, operating in the 2.4GHz frequency.

Now at CES 2011 today, the company continued the effort on the faster N speed by announcing and demonstrating the first 450Mbps true dual-band router, the TEW-692GR.

This is the first router for general consumers that offers the ceiling speed of 450Mbps in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands. The true dual-band notion means that the router can … Read more
