Amazon is said to be looking to create its own version of Apple's popular iTunes Radio. According to The Wall Street Journal, the e-commerce giant has reportedly been in talks with major record labels to create its own music-streaming service.
The service would reportedly be available to Amazon Prime customers -- who pay $79 per year for free two-day shipping and Amazon's video-streaming service. The music service is said to be like iTunes Radio that plays music based on user preferences, rather than a subscription service like Spotify that gives users unlimited music access.

HBO Go has long been viewed as a trailblazer in traditional television's move to offer premium video online, but Sunday night it got tripped up just as badly as the other guys.
A week after ABC and Aereo's separate live streams of the Oscars were plagued by buffering and errors, demand for the finale of HBO's "True Detective" series grew so heavy that HBO Go began to fail.
The recurring problems for online viewers trying to access the hottest online video when it's "live" raises eyebrows about whether the Internet and media … Read more

In a bid to get an exclusive hold on the most promising content it can, video-hosting site Vimeo is taking the Kickstarter ethos of directly connecting fans with creators and flavoring it with a dash of Netflix -- and $10 million.
The company is carving out a $10 million fund to directly invest in films that either premiere at one of the top 20 US film festivals or garner $10,000 in crowdfunded support on sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, in exchange for giving Vimeo a window of time as the only place you can go to see the videos … Read more
