Changes in the way Intel connects its processors to the circuit board may signal broad changes to the desktop PC as we know it today.

With the abundance of USB-dependent devices, it's surprising more cafes, offices, and homes don't have outlets like the U-Socket.

After stumbling upon a photo of an iPhone plugged directly--no AC adapter--into the wall, I soon discovered that USB outlets, or wall sockets, not only exist, but are very easy to install.

Unless you're a helpless tech addict, you won't need these in every room, but the kitchen, bedroom, and office are a few places that would seriously benefit from such an installation, saving the headaches of looking for AC adapters.

Dutch certificate authority DigiNotar is closing up shop following a recent hacking attack that caused it to issue a series of phony online security certifcates.

Parent company Vasco announced the bankruptcy filing yesterday, explaining that a trustee will work with the court as DigiNotar goes through the bankruptcy process.

Vasco is also currently analyzing the extent of the damage caused by the cyberattack.

Following his recent attack against Dutch security company DigiNotar, the hacker known as Comodohacker is now threatening to exploit Microsoft's Windows Update service.

In another message posted on Pastebin last week touting his cyberattacks, the infamous hacker claims that he's able to issue phony Windows updates despite Microsoft's assertion to the contrary.

After a security problem derailed it last year, a technology to open a high-speed browser communications link is getting back on track again.

The technology, called WebSocket, is good for Web sites that involve time-sensitive communications--multiplayer games or real-time trading, for example. A security issue raised concerns about WebSocket led to reworking of the technology, but now supporters think they've fixed WebSocket.
