Facebook's price too high for a 'fad'?

In today's show, the postman always scans twice, a new Kindle could let you read in the dark, and catch all the Pokémon hiding in your living room:

We're keeping a close eye on Facebook as it prepares to go public on the Nasdaq this week. Values for its initial public offering are in the $34 to $38 range. At the high end, it would make Facebook worth more than $100 billion. But we will find out Thursday what the actual initial stock price will be.

Groupon the sitcom... what?

Hold the canned laughter, it's true -- Groupon is the focus of a new sitcom.

CBS has just ordered the sitcom for next season, and it's about two friends who moved to Los Angeles to work at Groupon, according to Vanity Fair. (Disclosure: CBS owns CNET.)

"Friend Me" is the name of the TV show, which is sure to kick up some controversy with social-networking giant Facebook. Just a couple of months ago Facebook revised its Statement of Rights and Responsibilities saying that account holders cannot use the word "Book" because it will be … Read more

Peel reinvents channel-surfing

Peel attempts to revolutionize the channel-surfing experience by serving up television recommendations based on the shows you already watch and don't watch. Unfortunately, it's corded, which would definitely put a crimp in our sit-com spying missions. But for top-secret conversations in person, we at least have the "Cone of Silence."

RCA's new Small Wonder: Not a creepy robot girl

RCA announced a new version of their Small Wonder minicamcorder today. A follow-up to the Small Wonder EZ101, the Small Wonder EZ201 is an extremely simple pocket camcorder with an extremely low price tag. With a suggested retail price of $130, the EZ201 is predictably spartan: a tiny, 1.5-inch LCD screen flips out for framing shots, and it records videos onto SD cards (not included). The camcorder has both a standard TV connection and a pop-out USB plug for easy viewing and transferring of movies.

RCA also announced the RCA Memory Maker, an accessory DVD-burning dock for the EZ201. … Read more
