SiriusXM satellite 2.0 stereo coming in November

SiriusXM's Lynx radio is coming just in time for the holidays, according to CE Outlook. In a call with analysts, Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin confirmed that the Lynx 2.0 radio will ship by the end of the year.

The Android-based radio is satellite 2.0-compatible and will be able to access the 30 new channels that SiriusXM debuted last month, and should be able to access the on-demand programming that launches next year. Sirius XM plans to unveil two next-generation satellite radio tuners next month. The portable devices will give subscribers access to 30 new stations, enhanced time-shifting capability, and a slew of on-demand programming, but unless you plan on taping the new radio to your dash, you can't get these new features in your car until next year.

Sirius XM confirmed that it will be rolling out its satellite radio 2.0 technology starting at the end of the year. Sirius XM will release Satellite Radio 2.0 this fall, according to a source close to the company. The next generation of the satellite radio subscription service will feature time-shift recording capabilities, increased storage for portable hardware devices, and on-demand content channels.
